Twins: 1st Month

One month down :(  Makes me so sad that its going by so fast.  I have put together some pictures from this first month of their lives and all the fun and not so fun things we have done in these short 30 days. I just love my boys!!!!

To help increase my milk supply I take supplements.  Yes, these cookies are part of my supplements!  These are lactation cookies.  They have brewers yeast, flax seed and oatmeal, all which have lactation properties.  I have to say they are pretty amazing too!  Along the with fenugreek that I take, I feel like these cookies really do help!

Reid Thomas

Kane Michael

I could just eat them up!!!!
This is one of my favorite pictures!

Oh this boy!  He has learned so much since these boys have come home.

Meet the newest member of our family, Auburn Hudson Bell.   Born June 3rd, weighing 6 pounds 4 ounces.

Proud Uncle Ryan holding Hudson for the first time!

Me holding Hudson …

Their girlfriend Ansleigh came to visit them and we had to take a picture of all 3 of them together.  It will have to go in the yearbook their senior year! HAHA!

Happy Father's Day to Ryan!  He got a new mower for Father's Day.  He got it a little early because he is so impatient and was going to go buy one before I could surprise him with it!  Liam loves to ride with him!  He will change his mind once that is one of his chores when he gets older!

Kane & Reid

Watching me pump…

Our first real bath!  I decided to do it in the sink but it was hard because they were so slippery!

June 7th we had our first ER scare.  After our midnight feeding, like I always do, I prop them up on a pillow while I pump.  While I was pumping, Kane decided to projectile vomit.  They both have had some reflux since birth so it wasn't anything alarming.  Ryan picked him up and we quickly realized that this time was different.  He couldn't catch his breath.  I quickly quit pumping and grabbed the suction bulb and started beating his back.  After about 2 minutes of doing what all I know to do and  him not getting any better, Ryan called 911.  He would gasp for air and make a little cry and then turn purple.  He did that a few times.  Scared us to death!  It took them about 3-4 minutes to get here and by then he had calmed down and was doing better but we decided to go ahead and go to the ER and have someone else look and him and tell us he is OK.  The ER doctor at URMC was new and had horrible bedside manner.  I knew he was fine, as you can see in the picture but he didn't have to be rude.  Yes I know I have brought in a baby that is sleeping and fine but about 15 minutes ago he wasn't so give us the time of day and not treat us like we are over protective parents.  I am a nurse and nurses only go to the doctor when their kids are dying and I seriously thought Kane was dying!  Enough with my rant.  He is doing fine now, occasionally vomiting but thats normal for a baby!

Nana and Papa with all their grand babies!

All of babies together.  Reid was the only one ready for the photo opportunity.

Had to have a picture with Liam too!

Kane passed out and sliding off his newborn boppy pillow.

Brother passed out like a little angel on his boppy pillow.

Gotta get our rest when we can!

Our friend Rhett Rogers came to visit us!  He didn't want his picture taken as you can see by the alligator tears, but we made it quick!

Our first real outing.  Ryan and I washed our cars and the boys hung out in the cool garage with G and Liam!

Look and this sweet baby snoozing!

Monday, June 16th the boys had an appointment with Dr. Eastham.  Maggie and Hudson had an appointment at the same time, or so she thought.  His appointment wasn't  until the next day but they got her in anyway.  Dr. Eastham was happy with everything.  Here are their statistics:

Reid

Weight - 7 pounds 0.5 ounces (0.89%)
Height - 20 inches (4.31%)
Head Circumference - 35.25 centimeters (10.44%)

Kane

Weight - 7 pounds 1.5 ounces (1.06%)
Height - 20 inches (4.31%)
Head Circumference - 35.25 centimeters (10.44%)

That's a 2 pound weight gain since birth!!! Dr. Eastham said that night time feedings can be the boys choice.  We don't have to wake them up anymore.  We still have to feed them on schedule during the day.  If I make enough breast milk then we can cut out supplementing with formula.  As of right now I am making just enough.  They each are taking 3 ounces a piece and when I pump after they eat I get roughly 6 ounces.  That is going to take away from my freezer stash that I am trying to build up but I already have 70 - 6 ounces bags in the freezer.

After our appointment we went to eat at Chuy's which is mine and Maggie's favorite place to eat!  We decided to feed them before we started home.  I asked for a cup of hot water to warm their bottles.  I didn't expect it to be so hot so I had to cool it off in my ice water.  Do what you gotta do! HAHA!

Happy 1 Month Birthday Boys!!!!

Hello Creekside Manor! Part 3

April 29th the siding and gutters were completely finished.  All we need now is the front porch and sidewalk poured.

Jason is speedy when it comes to painting!  He finished the garage so that we can put up the garage doors.  Unfortunately our doors won't be in until next week.

It's hard to tell in the dark but these and the two colors in the living room and kitchen.  The kitchen/breakfast nook is Antique White and the Living room is a little darker.  I can't remember the name but once I get it I will reblog.  Our dining room will be horizontal stripes using those two colors together.  That will be the last thing he does!

May 1st and here is a better picture of the colors during the daytime.

Here is our bedroom color.  It is grey …

Our bathroom is this teal color.  It looks bright here but it is darker in person.  Ryan is screwing down the floors getting ready to start putting down all the flooring!!!!!

May 4th we decided to go check out the house is see what was new.  As I was walking by the garage I noticed one of the garage windows.  When the brick layers were cleaning off the mortar one of them decided to use some type of knife or steel brush to clean it off and now one of our windows is all scratched.  He must have noticed what it was doing because none of the other windows had this.

Ryan went and picked up the tile this weekend and hopefully that will start next week sometime!

The garage door openings are ready for garage doors to be installed!

Floors are scraped and ready to be sanded.

The twins room has their blue wall up!

May 5th - Garage doors are here and installed!!! I LOVE them!!!!!!!

May 6th - Doors and trim are here!  Spoke with Jason yesterday and he told me that each door would take 3-4 hours to caulk, sand and paint!  Thats crazy!  But they are going to look awesome!

Septic tank is in too!  Septic lines should go in this week!  No more $90 a month porta-potty!!!!!!  Well, not until we get potties in the house :(

May 8th - The porches are finally filled with gravel … LOTS OF GRAVEL!  I woke Liam up this afternoon bribing him that he could help daddy drive the loader.  Worked like a charm!  Septic lines were finished today as well.   Justin spent all morning putting down the fiber rock boards in the kitchen so they they can start putting tile down soon!  Also, all door frames are up and ready to be caulked, sanded and painted! Things are moving along!

May 10th - Fiberock is down in the wet areas and almost ready for tile.

Crown molding is up and Jason is puttying, caulking, sanding and painting it all.

May 15th - Justin and I spent the day at Home Depot for the second time.  The first time he washed the list in his pocket.  So since I was so far along in the pregnancy we decided we needed to go on and re-pick everything out.  Good thing we did because I went in to labor that night.

There was no way that I could have walked all over that store!  Thank goodness they had a buggy.  Justin laughed at me all day and told all the Home Depot employees that the twins were his.  Of course he was making inappropriate comments and making them (and me) uncomfortable.  It was funny though!

At 9pm that night I went into labor.

This blog has gotten long so I will end this one and start Part 4.  Hopefully that will be the last one!
