Catching Flies

Every since he was born he has slept with his mouth open.  It is so sweet! He looks like a little birdie waiting on momma bird to drop him a worm haha :)  My sweet baby.  I just love that little birdie mouth :)

Milk Allergy??

So if gestational diabetes wasn't hard enough on my eating habits, my child has to have a milk allergy too.  I know that babies are fussy and can't always be happy all the time.  But when they scream bloody murder every time you eat something dairy, somethings got to give.  So I'm giving up dairy.  Not just milk, cheese, ranch, sour cream (not to mention these are all my favorite things) but I have to give up traces of dairy too.  I have to look at the ingredients to everything I buy, which is super time consuming and annoying.  I have found things that I can eat and keep them stocked.  I have to have chocolate after every meal.  Thank goodness Oreo's don't have any dairy in them!  It helps too that breastfeeding uses lots of calories because I can eat a whole thing of Oreo's in a week!  We first tried gas drops and then gripe water.  They helped a little.  But I have definitely noticed a difference since I have stopped eating dairy.  He likes pressure on his belly so that's what we had to do to keep him comfortable.  Here are some pictures of his screaming and then Ryan trying to calm him down :)

I'm One Month Old!!!

On January 4th Liam had his 1 month check up.  Dr. Eastham is his pediatrician.  Hollyn told us about him so we decided to go with what we knew and not get someone we didn't know about and hate them.  We absolutely LOVE him.  He is so sweet and down to earth.  He doesn't make you feel stupid and if he doesn't know the answer he doesn't beat around the bush, he tells you he doesn't know.  When we first get back to his room, we have to take off all his clothes and weigh him.  He was 8 pounds and 4 ounces.  His length was 20.5 inches long.  This put him in the 10% for both of those.  His head circumference was 36 cm.  That was the 20% for his age.   We were told to start giving him vitamins since babies don't get very much sun, they need their vitamin D.  So we started giving him a bottle at night that way he can get his vitamins and hopefully help him sleep a little better.

The first month consisted of New Years.  We went to Aunt Jana and Uncle Josh's for their New Year's Party ...

1st Christmas

Our Christmas routine is so crazy! On Christmas Eve we have 3 different places to go.  We first start off at the Gilley's for my Dad's side of the family around 2 o'clock.  We eat and open up presents and play dirty santa and then we are off to the next destination.  Next is my moms side of the family around 6 o'clock.  This year it was at my parent's house.  We eat once again and the kids open their presents and the adults play dirty santa.  We played it differently this year so it was a nice change.  After that we are off to Ryan's grandparents house.  By then it is 8 o'clock and they have already ate.  They wait on us to open presents and then we usually play a board game.  This year was totally different because now we have a baby to work around so instead of playing the game with everyone we went home to get some rest because we had a busy morning the next day.  Christmas Day consists of us waking up and opening up our presents.  This year was a good year! Ryan got his new wedding band that he wasn't expecting and I got an IPad that I wasn't expecting!! Santa sure was good this year! haha  We decided that Liam would just get presents in his stocking this year since he was so little and already had everything that he needed.  Next year will be a big Christmas!  After we do our Christmas we go to my parents for breakfast.  Breakfast consists of country ham, biscuits, eggs and sausage balls!! YUM!!! Papa stopped by and gave us our Christmas card :) I always look forward to his card because it has green stuff in it hehe!  When we are done there, we go to Ryans parents house and open gifts there!  They cook there too so we usually stuff our faces some more and nap on the couch.  Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year but I am so glad when it is over!

Aunt Shonta loving on Liam...

We were so worried that Mackie would not let Earl hold Liam but once we put Liam in his lap Mackie wouldn't let anyone near either of them! We had to distract Mackie with something just to pick him back up! That dog is the devil!

Hanging out under the Christmas tree watching the lights...

Our first Christmas as a family!

Connor has grown up so much!  Instead of playing outside with the other kids, he wanted to hold Liam.  When it was time for a bottle he wanted to feed and burp him.  Connors little brother is just a few months older than Liam so he has had lots of practice!  I hope that one day Liam will be a good big brother like you Connor!

First Outing Together

About a week after Liam was born, Hollyn and Landon came and picked us up to go to Shayna's baby shower.  I so needed to get out of the house!  So glad that he has someone close in age, and there will be many more of these kinds of pictures in the future.

Splish Splash

A few days after we got home we figured it was time to take a bath.  He still had his belly button and circumcision bell so we had to have a sponge bath.  Needless to say, we weren't too happy about it!

 Washing the tush!

When the belly button and bell fell off we finally got to take a real bath!  Still not the favorite thing!

Not happy!!!

At about 2 months old I started putting him in the bathtub with me.  He LOVES it! So now bath time has become my favorite time with him.  I know he will one day hate me for this picture but it is too cute to not post on here :)

4 Generations

Family is so important to us.  We are so lucky to have such supportive people in our lives and we couldn't do it with out them.  We wouldn't be who we are today if it wasn't for their guidance and love.  Thank you for showing us the way.  There have been loved ones lost and they are truly missed.  I miss my grandmother but I am so happy that she got to see an ultrasound picture before she passed.  I know she is watching down on us.
