Reid & Kane turn 6

Since the weather has been nice outside we have spent a lot of time out at the property.  There are a lot of power wheels out there to ride but some are just getting to be a little on the small -and slow- side.  For their birthday we got with the grandparents and bought the boys a go-kart for their birthday.  We decided to get it early so they could go ahead and enjoy it.  Here they are as we were driving up the driveway to show them.  Liam was the first one to see it.

May 16th happened to fall on a Saturday.  With Coronavirus still hovering over our heads we decided to just have family and close friends over at Mark & Maggie's house on the property and grill out.

I can't believe these turkeys are SIX YEARS OLD!

Look how handsome he is!

Chowin' down on some burgers and hotdogs

Kane chose a Pokemon theme while Reid chose Nerf guns.

Singing happy birthday - Reid in true form!

Singing happy birthday to Kane - he's not so sure how to react.  He acts like he doesn't like the attention - but he really does!

They get the first cupcakes!

Time to open presents!

He wanted a mini gun ... so Nana & Papa got him a "mini" gun

I guess this big ol' thing is called a mini gun on Fortnite and what he was really asking for!

Leon sent the boys a Snapchat wishing them Happy Birthday!  We sure do miss him!

I love this bond they have and will forever have.  To be twins they couldn't be more different. Time sure is flying by with these two.  I'm enjoying watching the young little men they are becoming - I just need it to slow down!  Happy Birthday Boys!

Memorial Day Weekend

Friday, May 22nd, I took the day off to have a 4 day weekend.  I will be honest - It was supposed
to rain ALL WEEKEND long so I was kind of bummed.  We stayed home Friday and got up Saturday morning and packed up, grabbed breakfast at McDonalds, coffee from Starbucks and picked up some last minute things before we made our way to the lake.

Spent all day floating on the boat then made our way to Twin Creeks for dinner.

Feeding the fish their leftovers.

Lake time wears a boy out!

Wears a dog out too.  Ref loves to be out there.  He doesn't always go out on the boat but he just likes not being left at home.  The rain held off all day until late Saturday night and was the perfect way to fall asleep after a long day on the water.

Sunday we woke up, ate breakfast and made our way out on the water again.

The boys saw some friends close by and decided to swim over and play with them.

Liam and Cale on the paddle board.

Like I said earlier ... lake time wears a boy out!

Before we went in to cook dinner we stopped over at the bat cave and Dad, Ryan, Josh and Liam grabbed some headlamps and made their way to see what they could find.  No bats ... just big spiders.

Monday morning sleepy heads.

So we noticed this rash on Kanes face Sunday and thought it was just sunburn or a reaction to the sunscreen stick that was out of date that I was using on him.  Well he woke up Monday morning with blisters on his chin.  After thinking about what all it could be we remembered he had eaten a bunch of limes on the boat the day before.  Come to find out there is a thing called phytophotodermatitis or "Margarita burn" and if the juice isn't washed off of the skin and you are in sunlight for a period of time with will cause chemical burns.

Breakfast Bloody Mary before heading back home to get ready for the work week.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!
