The Twins are One!!!!

May 15, 2014.  I will never forget that day.  I spent that morning at Home Depot with Justin McIntosh picking out my fixtures for the new house.... for the second time.  I rode around in the motor buggy due to my large belly and two swollen feet.

That afternoon we went to eat at Boskey's for Caylee Gillam's birthday.  I love that Maggie and I are like the pregnant book ends of the picture. Haha!

Later that night after fighting with Liam about going to bed, I sat up in the bed to pick him up and lay him beside me and that's when my water broke.  And so our journey began.  At 1:09 am and 1:10 am of May 16, 2014 my two beautiful boys were born.

Read about my whole birth story here
Read about their time in the NICU here.

My heart is full of all sorts of emotions.  I'm happy, sad and excited all at the same time.  The boys are more than likely my last babies.  There is still that possibility that we might have more but I am no way ready to even think about that right now.  As bad as I would love to have a girl, I feel like 3 is enough.  I want to be able to travel and enjoy my life and be able the have and do things.  I don't know if I am selfish or just realistic.

Head Circumference: 47.75 centimeters (90%)

Kane

Boys, those are some BIG heads!

There is always some type of super hero at all times in my house.  On this particular day I had Batman and Spiderman to protect me.

These are Liam's bad eyes.  He gets it honest.  He got this trait from me :)

Bath time!!!

Liam eating his first salad.  He loved it!  I was shocked when he wanted to take a bite of mine and then he wouldn't stop eating it.  You have to understand that this kid is a very picky eater.  He ate every bit of this bowl and some bites of mine too!

I can see it now!  These boys love being outside.  If they were in this play pen inside, they would be screaming and crying but outside they love it.  These next pictures show all their personalities so well!

Liam with some of my coworkers' boys.  We all took them to see the Shrek Musical in Tullahoma.  Our boss played Ogre Fiona and the play was so good!  I think we all had a good time.

Liam, Aunt Maggie and Hudson picking strawberries while I am at work.

And.... this is happening.  Kane is climbing on furniture and Reid is taking steps.  Geez, time slow down.  They are still in size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes.  They are still eating me out of house and home and we have started whole milk.  I have a little bit of formula left so I am cutting the whole milk with formula until that tub is gone.  They get sippy cups of milk with meals and a bottle at bedtime and if they are super fussy and I can't figure out what is wrong.  Reid has 6 teeth now and Kane has 7.  They are starting to try to repeat more words.  They still sound more like mama and dada but I can see their little brains working to try to get those new words out.

I love the pictures I get while I am at work.  I am so thankful that we have family to watch the kids while we work.  Liam will hopefully be starting preschool this fall!

Birthday morning consisted of waking up to balloons and us singing Happy Birthday!

Birthday morning also consisted of birthday cake pancakes and chocolate milk!

It just so happened that it was Bridgestone day at the Nashville Zoo.  So we spent the afternoon hanging out walking around looking at all the animals.

As I was putting Kane in his seat to leave for the zoo I noticed some marks on his arm.  My first thought was that Reid had bit him.  The more I looked the more teeth marks I saw.  That narrowed it down.  We have our first bite. Thanks Liam!

The boys got new car seats for their birthday from G & Grandy.  This is their first ride in them.  We are on our way to the boys 1 year appointment at Dr. Easthams office!

Easter

Easter morning was a busy one.  I got all the boys stuff together and sat out the night before, after they went to bed.  Ryan had to work that day so I knew I had to stick to my schedule to get everyone to church on time.  We decided that early church would be easiest for me since the boys wake up at 6am ... EVERY SINGLE MORNING.  I still felt rushed but we got there on time.  I woke Liam up to tell him the Easter bunny had come to see him and left him his basket in the living room.

He was so excited about his baseball bat and glove!

The babies got much needed things like snacks! Kane is my early riser.  He is always the first one up in the mornings.  I had to wake Reid up in order to stay on schedule.

Easter lunch was at Aunt Leslie & Uncle Duane's house.  Family picture minus Ryan.

Liam, Donavon and Hardy Lee got to hunt for eggs.  The twins could have cared less! Haha!

We DO NOT like the grass! ... or that ball behind him!

I rarely am ever in front of the camera.  Nice to have these moments with my boys captured on film!

My vampire baby!  I LOVE those teeth!

Liam loves babies and babies seem to love Liam.  I guess so since that is all he knows!

Liam's easter basket from G & Grandy.  It was ninja turtle themed.

The ninja turtles even made an appearance.

The dogs even got to be ninja turtles too!

Look at those ninja skills!

We left there with all kinds of goodies ... and even the golden egg!

We ended the day eating dinner at Nana & Papa's house like we do every Sunday.  I was too pooped after our busy day that I forgot to take some pictures there.  I love my whole entire family.  Holidays just keep getting harder and harder as the years go by because of those loved ones that are not here to share the moments with us.  I know they are all looking down on us and are proud to see that we are all together.
