I'm 11 Months Old!!!!

This can't be possible!  Why does time have to go so fast?  Eleven months already?  Liam is learning so fast.  He is standing on his own and as of last night he took his first "real" steps on his own.  He has been taking one step and then falling down.  Last night he took about 3 steps on his own to get to me on the couch.  Thanks goodness that Ryan was there to witness it to.  With his crazy work schedule, I am always excited for him to witness something first hand with me!

He now has 5 little teeth.  His bottom 2 and then the 2 middle ones on top, then the one to the right of the middle one.  They sure do hurt when he bites too!

He is definitely getting his little personality.  He doesn't like it when you tell him NO!  He looks at you and pops that lip out like his feelings are hurt and he whines.   If he does something that makes a loud noise and scares him he looks at us and starts whining.  Once we tell him he is ok then he realizes he is fine.

This is a good picture of his new teeth and his whiny face all in one :)

He is eating way more table food now.  I can give him whole biscuits and muffins and the bites off little pieces at a time.  I am still giving him baby food though because I still have so much in the freezer.  He is still a good eater and eats everything I give him.  Here lately he has not been wanting to finish his bottle after his meals.  I have been giving the rest of it to him at nap time just so that he will get in all his bottle.  Last night we tried whole milk to see if he would take it better.  I did half formula and half whole milk.  It didn't really seem to phase him that he was getting something different.  He drank it just like he would if it was formula.  I'm pretty excited that I will no longer have to buy formula!!! I only had to do it for 4 months but it was still expensive.  He has discovered how to get his snacks out of his little snack cup so he is constantly eating snacks.  His favorites that I mix together are puffs, yogurt puffs, cheerios and goldfish.

When Ryan is at home at night, he likes to eat ice cream before he goes to bed.  And guess what? Like father like son!.....

We have to block off rooms and close doors now because he is all over the house.  He is now trying to figure out a way to climb over the gate.  He isn't successful yet and I guess we will cross that bridge when we get to it! Haha!

Liam and Hartly have become close buds.  Hartly actually tolerates Liam now.  If he gets too rough then she just gets up.  But for the most part she lets him beat on her and grab her feet.  He has recently discovered her nipples and Hartly doesn't care for that at all!

He can clap now.  When we say, "YAAAY!!!," he gets those little hands to clapping.  He can click his little tongue and make that little popping sound when we do it.  And the other night he started snorting on command.  He is so funny.  We pretty much have "BYE" down now.  That little hand flopping up and down is just precious! (Don't mind the chocolate on his face, Ryan was giving him bites of M&M's!)

Next month my baby will be a toddler :(  There will be tears of joy and sadness!  I have been planning it for a while now and I am so excited for it to be here! Its going to be soooo cute!  He is going to be one cute caterpillar!!!

Pumpkin Carving

I sure will be glad when Ryan gets a day time shift!  Carving pumpkins by myself is no fun!  Aunt Maggie and Uncle Mark came over to carve their pumpkins with us.  At first Liam was afraid of the pumpkins but after a few minutes he was using them as drums!  Since we were in a hurry to get the pumpkins carved before dark and since I was doing 2 pumpkins, I didn't let Liam play around in the pumpkin mess.  I didn't want to have to give him a bath afterwards either.  And the thought of possibly having to dig pumpkin seeds out of his mouth was not anything I wanted to worry about.

I decided to be simple this year and just do faces.  So I did a funny face and a scary face.  I thought I did pretty good considering I had both pumpkins gutted and carved before Maggie had hers finished!

Old Timer's Day

I am so happy that they brought back Old Timer's Day.  It was always one of my favorite times during the year growing up and I was sad when they did away with it in 2008.  I'm pretty sure that I was on a float every year growing up.  All week long it was warm but then the rain came the night before and brought some chilly weather with it!  Just how I remember Old Timer's Day!  We went to dad's office to watch the parade.  Mom, Pam, Jana, Josh and Kenzie met up with us to watch as well.  I was impressed with all the people who had floats in the parade.  I figured since is had been so long since the last parade that it would fall short.  The parade lasted about 30-45 minutes.  Kenzie loaded up on candy and shared some of it with Liam.  The parade ended with Aunt Maggie and Uncle Mark on their horses.  I figured Liam would love to ride so I threw him up there with Maggie for a photo opportunity!

After the parade we walked around the square to see what all was there.  I was impressed with that as well.  There were plenty of places to eat and lots of booths selling crafts!  Jana had a hair appointment so we made one loop around the square and then headed home.  I hope that they keep this tradition going so that Liam will grow up to remember some of the good times I had as a kid.

I'm 10 Months Old!!!!!

Holy cow the big birthday is getting closer and closer!!!  I am amazed at how much Liam has grown in 10 months.  He learns things so fast.  I find my self every few weeks breaking down and crying because I don't want him to get any bigger.  I want him to stay his sweet innocent self.  So small and sweet.  These breakdowns usually happen at night when I am tired and I am rocking him to sleep.  I sing or hum "You are my sunshine" to him every night before he goes to bed.  I start thinking that one day he is going to be too big for me to sing to him and it makes me cry.  Just like now, I'm crying.  Ok enough of that!  We can no longer contain him in one room.  He wanders around everywhere.  I know he is into something he isn't supposed to when he is being quite and then I have to go and find him.  He says "DaDa" and "Bye Bye" and when I try to get him to say mama he says "Bu".  He makes all kinds of other noises that mean nothing.  He waves bye and is starting to clap.  He will occasionally dance when I turn on music and start dancing.  He has also starting giving kisses.  They are open mouth which is even better!

He now has 3 teeth.  His top left tooth has come in.  That means I have not gotten a full nights sleep these past 2 weeks!  He usually wakes up and I just go get him and put him in bed with me.  Too bad both of his tops ones couldn't of come in at the same time.

He is starting to eat more table food now.  I make him muffins, scrambled egg yolk, peaches, lasagna, and any type of bread.  Anything that is soft or melts fast he gets.  He still is eating 3 meals a day and 4 formula bottles.  He loves ice cream but what kid doesn't!  When we go out to eat I order him something or he eats off of my plate.  So far it has only been french fries and he gobbled down a cheese quesadilla from the Mexican restaurant!  Otherwise, I still have to pack up his pureed food from home.  If he sees us with a plate, he is at our feet fussing for a bite!

Well I ordered some things for his birthday party last week.  We are doing the Very Hungry Caterpillar theme.  I am so excited about it!!!  I have so much planned.  I also ordered his birthday present along with his halloween basket from Pottery Barn the other day!  I haven't picked out his Halloween costume yet.  I am having a hard time picking something out!  I want it to be good.  Both will be here before we know it!

We are so close to walking!  He creeps around furniture and is starting to stand on his own for like 2 seconds. LOL Then he falls down.  He walks around on his walker.  With me working full time I hope that I don't miss out on his first steps.  I will be devastated!

Liam's First Fair Experience

Liam got to experience the Coffee County Fair for the first time this year.  Mine and Ryan's schedules are so mixed up that there wasn't a night where we could both be able to take him.  Thursday night my mom and I took Liam to the fair.  We started out by eating some good fair food.  For some reason I love ball park pizza so I every year I have to find a booth with ball park pizza.  Liam ate my french fries.  After we ate, I spent a fortune on tickets.  When did fair tickets become so expensive?  I knew that there wouldn't be alot for him to ride so I only bought $20 worth, which was only 24 tickets.  Needless to say we only used 8 of them.  What a waste!  The first ride we rode was the train.  It took everything I had to squeeze into that little train car LOL!  But he loved every minute of it!

As we walked around we saw Auntie Holly and Grant.  Auntie Holly gave me my first taste of cotton candy! I think he was a fan!

We ended our fair trip with a ride on the carousel.  It was hard to tell how much he like it.  He sat on the horse for a little while and then he wanted in my arms so we sat down in one of the chairs.

I really wanted Ryan to be involved with his first fair experience so on Saturday afternoon Ryan got up and we went to eat lunch there.  We went to the Methodist booth and had some of their yummy chili and grilled cheese (which Liam ate too.) They have some of the best desserts ever, so I had fudge pie and Ryan had pecan pie.  After we ate we went to the petting zoo to look at the animals.  We looked at the pigs, goats, cows, bunnies and all the different types of birds.  He seemed to enjoy it!  We wanted to ride rides but the fair rides didn't open until 3pm!  So we weren't able to use the rest of those $20 tickets.  UGH! The fair definitely isn't what it was when I was growing up.  I hope that he enjoys the fair like I used to as a kid!
