Ryan Turns 38

September 13th, Ryan turned 38 years old.  For his birthday he wanted to spend the weekend in Nashville with some good friends. Our family friend, Cheryl, let us stay at her downtown apartment for the weekend. Ryan asked his friend Scot Miller and his wife Wendy to go with us.  We met up at the apartment and made our way to the old Hap & Harrys now called Benchmark to see a friend of Scot's that was playing/singing there.

Peach Moonshine shots

For dinner, Ryan wanted seafood so we went to Joe's Crabshack.  For his birthday they made him hold a round tray and walk around the restaurant while they sang him HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  Whenever they stopped singing he had to say "BEEP BEEP, ITS MY BIRTHDAY" It was very entertaining.

Our next stop was this cool speakeasy called The Red Phonebooth.  You have to be a member or know someone who is a member and has the code to get in.  Luckily, Scot is a member so we were able to get in.  You are supposed to go into the phone booth, enter the code and the door opens but because of Covid, there was someone outside that we gave the code to to let us in.

The humidor

Speaks for itself lol

In their happy place ....

Printer's Alley

Next was the Dream Hotel where Scot also go us into a private cigar lounge.  It was also very "top secret" and you had to know someone to get in.  Scot knew the Crown Heads cigar rep that was in the lounge and was able to get us in.  We hung out on the balcony and watched people go by.

The lounge just so happened to be where the old Brass Stables used to be.  The lounge was the dressing room for the girls at one time.

They refurbished the sign and it still hangs down Printers Alley for that nostalgic feel.  The club no longer exists.

We had such a good time!!!

Next morning Ryan and I got up and found a place to eat breakfast.  I had a Bloody Mary - my favorite morning drink!

Our ride home was miserable.  There was a really bad hostage/murder situation on the interstate that had both the interstate and Hwy 41 backed up.  There were also multiple wrecks throughout 41 causing more congestion.  Want to say it took us 3-4 hours to get home when it normally takes 1 hour.

Once we got back to Manchester we went to eat dinner and  pick up the boys at Ryan's parents house.  When we got there the boys had made cupcakes while I also had a strawberry shortcake made for him.

We all sang him happy birthday!

Happy Birthday Ryan!!! We love you!

First Day of School 2020

The end of last school year and the start of this school year is one for the books!  2020 has definitely been an odd year to say the least.  But we make the best of the situation and move along.

Getting ready to go pick up packets and meet teachers...

Official first day of 3rd grade - Teacher: Mrs Beachboard

Official first day of 1st grade - Teacher: Mrs Reid

Official first day of 1st grade - Teacher: Ms Harden

How school is working during the Covid-19 pandemic depending on the percentage of active cases in Coffee County.

We made it to about a week of school before we went to hybrid schedule.  Liam is was in the A class so he was in school on Monday & Wednesday and virtual on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Watching his gym class.

Running laps in the house.

Grade 2 and under continued to go everyday so Reid and Kane were in school throughout the week.  Thank goodness because I don't know how I would have kept everyone doing what they were supposed to be doing and working as well.  They were on an alternate virtual schedule for about a month and then were able to go back to a regular school schedule. They continue to check temperatures upon getting out of the car but otherwise school seems to be working on a normal schedule.

Summer Fun

Lots of fun things happened this summer.  Here is our summer recap of some of the things we did ...

Smoked bologna = summer

Hudson turns 6

Chillin in G and Grandy's bed at the camper

Lounging on the lily pad

The lake can wear a boy out!

His favorite thing to do - drive the boat.

Taking a walk with Nana and the cousins.

The biggest Saturday morning group at the gym!  We just keep getting bigger!

Declan and new kitty #1 - they are currently on kitty #3 at the time of this post! haha!

Supper club at Top of the Rock with some of my favorite people

Wedding crashers with my girls.

Sunday night dinner - Nacho table!  So much fun and yummy too!

Loving on the newest Bess baby - Ansley.  AK did not want to take a picture with me so this is the best we could get!

Ryan and I decided to fix up the flower bed.  The boys were a big help carrying chunks of grass to the end of the road for us! They each earned a Fortnite battle pass for their efforts.

The finished product minus the couple more bags of lava rock we had to go get!  We are pretty proud!

Luke Dorak had a birthday party.....

.... then everyone came over to our house for a sleepover!

Brooks has been asking his Uncle Ryan for a Blippi Garbage Truck for a long time.  Uncle Ryan broke down and bought him one!

He was so excited!

Rub a dub dub - stinky boys in a tub!

This boy plays hard.

My scrabble tile project that I finally completed.  Im in love and it looks so good on my living room wall! I requested this and the shelves for my Mothers day gift.  The shelves are in my office.

Playing outside with their hot wheels enjoying the nice weather.

During the quarantine I decided to make sourdough bread.  It's very time consuming.  More time than I want to spend making bread.  But in now I know I can do it so that's all that matters.  Haha!

EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING.  I swear he wrestles a different animal in his sleep every night.

These two have a special bond.

Liam FINALLY learned to ride his bike without training wheels.  I have tried to get him to learn to ride for a year or two but he just hasn't had any interest.  He came to me one day and said he wanted to do it.  I got up so fast!  It took about 15 minutes and he had it!

Nana had another birthday and we celebrated with Mexican

Our last weekend on the lake with warm weather

Seems fitting to end the summer at the lake since we spent the majority of our summer weekends there.  Now bring on the fall-bonfire-pumpkin spice season.
